There are college scholarships offered just to women, which gives women an advantage in that they can apply to many general scholarships in addition to women scholarships. Women Scholarships

Sara Scholarship

Application Deadline May each year

Award Amount at least 12 college scholarships for females will be offered, $2,000 awards for 4 years ($8000 total per recipient)

This scholarship for women, funded through the Henry & Sara Sheehan foundation, is granted annually to female high school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and who demonstrate academic achievement, excellence of character, financial need and active engagement with the sport of golf. Good golf skills are not a requirement but you must be actively involved with golf as a player, team member, golf caddy or working at a golf course. For detailed requirements see sarascholarship.org

Generation Google Scholarship

Application Deadline varies, typically February or March each year

Award Amount multiple scholarships of $10,000

Google offers Generation Google scholarships for underrepresented minorities majoring in computer engineering, computer science, or related major. May be used toward graduate or undergraduate degree. Applicants who are part of groups historically excluded from the technology industry, including Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, are encouraged to apply. Executive Women International Scholarship Program

Application Deadline March each year

Award Amount $200,000 of college scholarships for women are awarded each year, up to $10,000 for national winners, and up to $4000 for chapter scholarships.

This scholarship for women is open to female high school juniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and business potential, who plan to attend college in the US and pursue a degree in business or professional field of study. 750 word essay required. Dotcom-Monitor Women in Computing Scholarship

Application Deadline March each year

Award Amount $1000

The Dotcom-Monitor Women in Computing Scholarship is offered to female students currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in the U.S. or Canada. Applicants should have either already declared their major in computer science, or have completed at least one academic year in computer science, computer engineering, or closely related field. Award Amount $500 - $1000 stipend

Talbots Scholarship for Women

Application Deadline January each year

Award Amount $10,000 to $30,000

The Talbots scholarship for women is available for women who graduated from high school or obtained their GED 10 years ago or more (e.g. 2004 or before for 2014 Talbots scholarship applicants), and who are attending a 2, 3 or 4 year college or university in the US or Canada, with one more year to go before they graduate. Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Awards

Application Deadline February each year

Award Amount $10,000 first place, $5000 second and $3000 third place, and 12 other scholarship finalists receive $1000

Note: this scholarship program is now closed. Starting in 2012 it is no longer offered. It had been open to girls ages 12 – 18 in middle school or high school. Girls were nominated based upon making a difference and showing initiative toward starting a business or financial independence.
